Client Objective
Starting Right Now (SRN) wanted a user-friendly website that gives a national and professional feel that demonstrates why SRN is a leading authority in ending youth homelessness through a holistic approach.
Our goals in improving SRN’s website were:
- Digitizing the mentor application, tutor application and referral process.
- Enhancing the presentation of SRN's video content, telling their story in a way that truly resonates with visitors.
- Providing a clear and comprehensive description of SRN's holistic approach to ending youth homelessness so that visitors could easily grasp the organization's purpose and achievements.
- Incorporating effective calls to action, highlighting donation prompts and encouraging email sign-ups to build a supportive community.

Our Solution
Planning & Design
To meet SRN’s goals, we first went through a strategic sitemap and design phase, focusing on refining the website’s structure. This involved creating dedicated pages such as the ‘Team’ and ‘About’ pages, along with a ‘What We Do’ section. To streamline engagement, we developed a ‘Get Involved’ landing page and easy to find applications and forms. We designed a comprehensive FAQ page with highlighted resources. Finally, we ensured the donate button was prominently highlighted throughout the website, encouraging and facilitating support for Starting Right Now's mission.
Impact & Storytelling
To enhance storytelling and highlight impact, we built a ‘Stories’ page featuring impactful videos that are also featured on other pages. We also included an ‘Our Impact’ callout and utilized iconography to visually represent the organization's holistic youth support. Accordions were integrated to showcase SRN’s legislative changes, allowing quick, at-a-glance understanding of how big of an impact SRN has had.
Technology
The migration to WordPress, provided a more dynamic and user-friendly backend for SRN to keep their website updated for years to come. Digital forms were implemented for their application forms, which streamlined manual tasks and client communication. Mailchimp was chosen as the platform for managing email sign-ups, so SRN can grow their engagement. Finally, DonorPerfect was integrated for donation forms and event ticket sales.
