Senior Digital Strategist
Job Summary:
We are looking for a senior digital fundraising expert with strong technical skills, to help guide and advise your own portfolio of enterprise-level nonprofit clients on their digital fundraising strategy. This is a client-facing role. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a room and a meeting virtually as an expert on day one is a must. Healthcare and hospital foundation experience is a plus.
As a Senior Digital Strategist at Doing Good Digital, you will serve as a detail-oriented project manager and hands-on consultant, immediately leading client meetings and working directly on project work to deliver industry-leading digital fundraising, acquisition, stewardship, retention and engagement activations, and projects while managing timeline and scope.
We work with the majority of our clients on a retainer basis to deliver digital fundraising strategy, email campaigns and technical projects including landing pages and microsites to support digital efforts.
Strong project management skills are a must. You will be responsible for managing multiple clients simultaneously and multiple projects for each client. This is a senior level position, defined by the role’s ability to lead strategic planning and discovery sessions, facilitate high-level strategic conversations, assess and address client's needs, and develop executive-level solutions that achieve client goals. For larger clients, this position will guide and collaborate with teams to ensure success. For smaller clients, they will work independently to deliver fundraising campaigns and provide necessary support.
Our team includes consultants, project managers, developers, designers, and copywriters. This position will be surrounded and supported by a team of experts to ensure both our clients and the position’s success.

Responsibilities:
- Facilitate discovery sessions with clients to identify their digital needs, goals, opportunities, and challenges
- Develop customized campaign briefs to present to clients that address the strategic direction of the project and outline specific deliverables, key messages and goals
- Write and/or edit copy and create other digital assets
- Develop, lead and execute results-focused digital strategies for clients while innovating and suggesting new ideas
- Execute on production and implementation of technology recommendations, projects and plans with support from designers and development team
- Establish processes for measuring and evaluating the success of individual campaigns as well as strategic plans
- Evaluate the results of campaigns and appropriately present results and recommendations to clients
- Provide and manage scope, budget, deliverables, and timelines for campaign projects
- Proactively recognize and assess client and team needs and prepare potential solutions to meet those needs
- Communicate and assign tasks to writers, designers, and other team members as needed
- Mentor and assign tasks to junior team members as needed
- Work closely with the leadership team to identify other areas of growth for campaigns
- Stay informed of digital tactics and the latest fundraising trends
- Perform other duties as assigned or otherwise identified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- 4+ years of full-time experience working at a nonprofit or digital agency
- 2+ years being a power user of Luminate Online or equivalent online fundraising/email platform(s)
- 2+ years of digital fundraising experience - specifically digital strategy and campaign experience
- Healthcare or Cause and Cure experience is a plus
- Digital advertising experience is a plus
- Asana experience is a plus
- Extensive experience working on multiple email marketing campaigns, audience segmentation, digital campaign automation, donor acquisition campaigns, running paid social ads, and cohesive digital fundraising strategy program implementations.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients. Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to grow and cultivate relationships with clients and internal team members.
- Ability to create creative briefs and campaign creative from scratch on day one. This includes the ability to lead brainstorming sessions with clients, write key messages, recommend email schedules and tactics (ex. Countdown clocks, FWD style emails). This position is expected to write email/social copy, edit copy, and provide creative direction to our design staff for the creation of campaign imagery and design. Strong copywriting and editing skills are a must.
- Ability to manage creative editing rounds with clients. This includes the ability to seek and facilitate feedback from clients and implement changes in creative.
- Ability to lead/complete email HTML implementation, quality assurance, and post-campaign reporting.
- Ability to project manage the development and implementation of technical projects such as websites, microsites, donation forms, and TeamRaisers. This involves being the subject matter expert and leading project plans through each phase (discovery, briefs, design, development, quality assurance, launch, and post-launch support) while exceeding client expectations.
- Possesses reasoning and problem-solving skills, with emphasis on seeking solutions.
- You must have valid work authorization in place for the USA or Canada.

Salary Range:
Compensation will be based on experience and location. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 + up to a 6% bonus if team revenue targets and personal performance targets are met.
